Here it is...the moment we've all been waiting for..."Once Upon A Time In Hollywood", the new film from Quentin Tarantino. We talk about it. All of it. And...ETHAN RETURNS! It's a wild ride of an episode. 

 

Then we talk about the film "Easy Rider", the quintessential counter culture film.

47: Giant Sized BaaM Vol. 1 - Midsommar / The Wicker Man + Bonus Content!!!

In this episode, the guys tackle the latest from Ari Aster, "Midsommar". They talk daylight horror, cults, Scandinavian architecture, and how to end a movie. 

 

Then they talk about a movie that directly influenced Aster, The Wicker Man (1973, sadly not the Nic Cage remake). 

 

Oh yeah, and some beer is consumed. 

46: Act Supernaturally - Yesterday / Hard Day's Night

This week, we're joined by Josh DeLeon of the Blind Owls! Go listen to their new single on Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, or wherever good music is streamed. 

 

In this episode, we talk about a rom-com with a somewhat, supernatural, twist: Yesterday. Danny Boyle's most recently effort sees a love story set in a world where everyone has forgotten about the Beatles. Everyone except one man. 

 

Then we pair it with a film that was set to capitalize on the height of Beatlemania: Hard Day's Night.

45: Stop Insulting The Beer, Carlos - High Life / 2001: A Space Odyssey

In this episode we talk about High Life. It's a wild movie. It has Robert Pattinson, Andre 3 Stacks, Mia Goth, Juliette Binoche. It's in space. If that's not enough then I don't know what is. 

 

We also talk about it in relation to 2001: A Space Odyssey, the greatest movie ever made according to Carlos.

44: Will Smith's "Kindergarten Cop" - MiB International / Men In Black

In this episode, the guy's tackle the latest installment/spinoff/reboot of the Men In Black franchise, "MiB International" starring Asgardians Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. 

 

Then they take a trip down memory lane and revisit the OG Men In Black film, and the rest of the original trilogy. 

 

Oh yeah, they also drink some beer. 

43: Hoe Jilliard - The Dead Don't Die / Zombieland

In this episode, the guys tackle the latest zombie/comedy/parody/satire film "The Dead Don't Die". It stars literally everyone you ever wanted to see in a movie and it's a wild ride. 

 

Then, the guys contrast that film with record-breaking zombie-comedy "Zombieland."

 

And there's some beer involved as well. 

42: Generally Dope - Godzilla: King Of Monsters / Pacific Rim

In this episode, the guy stalk about the new installment in the Monster Universe, "Godzilla: King Of Monsters" in which Godzilla comes out looking great, but a certain actor takes a bit of a beating. 

 

Then, they share their fairly divided takes on Del Toro's 2013 Kaiju Romp, "Pacific Rim". There's also plenty of beer involved. 

41: The Great (Age) Divide - Booksmart / Superbad

In this episode, we talk about Olivia Wilde's directorial debut "Booksmart". We get into why this film plays differently with different generations and the visual genius Wilde has shown. 

 

Then we talk about the film it is often compared to, Superbad. And ultimately discuss the teen romp comedy format in general. It's a good one. 

 

Oh, and we play some games and get into the news. 

40: All The Wick You Can Handle - John Wick 3 / The Matrix

In this episode, the guys recruit Weathered Souls and St. Elmo Brewing company to provide the beer to talk about John Wick 3 and this budding, ORIGINAL, new franchise. 

 

Then we go back in time, 20 years to be exact, and talk about one's Keanu's most memorable roles, and a film that changed action cinema forever, The Matrix. 

39: Unexpectedly Meta - Detective Pikachu / Unconventional Adaptations

Okay, hear us out...Detective Pikachu is suprisingly meta. In this episode, Joe and David try to stop being super old and understand Pokemon (more Joe than David), and we drink a Golden Stout form Superior Bathhouse Brewing (thanks to Carlos' Sister-In-Law). 

 

Second, we talk about unconventional adaptations in cinema and drink an IPA from Ingenious Brewing using experimental hops.
